Description

Specifications

  • Enables fast diagnosis of glow plug failure or degradation without the need to disassemble the plug from the engine.
  • Suitable for use on any 12Volt DC vehicle system and connects directly to the vehicle's battery.
  • Features 6 LED readout which indicates glow plug status and also if battery contains enough charge to power the plugs.

Operating intructions

  • Disconnect the power wires from the glow plugs to be tested,
  • Connect the RED clip of the tester to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, the BLACK clip to the negative (-) terminal of the battery,
  • Contact the test probe tip on the glow plug 
  • Wait until the glow plug is hot. This can take between 3 and 20 seconds (check the manufacturer's specifications for the exact warm-up time)
  • Check which LED lights up on the tester to determine whether or not the spark plug is working properly.

Note : Even if all 4 glow plugs are in open circuit, DO NOT assume that this tool is defective. It is possible that the vehicle is still running and that all 4 glow plugs are defective.
