Calibrated orifices are small tubes that allow refrigerants to be expanded, but unlike regulators, they do not regulate flow.

A calibrated orifice must be changed after each replacement of a major part of the air conditioning system.

IMPORTANT :

When installing a new calibrated orifice in your circuit, make sure it is installed in the correct direction.
